A year ago, we decided to bring real General Contracting GmbH into existence as part of a rebranding initiative. In this young company, we are combining our experience from previous years with the innovative vision that a new beginning provides.

OUR Success has three factors
SUCCESS FACTOR: IDEA
Property owners and project developers want to keep construction costs calculable for new leases. That’s why we have been a kind of ‘construction cost risk outsourcing partner’ for our customers since 2007. Since then, we have constantly been improving the performance we promise our customers. As a Design & Build partner, we are often already involved in the initial phases of the leasing agreement as an engineering advisor. Speed is a competitive advantage. When a leasing agreement is at stake, we are part of our customers’ success.
SUCCESS FACTOR: CUSTOMERS
The success of our company is based on the trust of our customers. We started out in 2007 with four completed projects. We now work on around 1,400 projects per year, and we also provide the construction services for over 400 of those projects. In 2019, we are expecting sales of over 220 million euros. We want to inspire our customers. On the rare occasions that we disappoint, we are often met with a great deal of forgiveness, because our customers appreciate the passion we bring to our work.
SUCCESS FACTOR: PEOPLE
Employees are the core success factor for any company. We are fortunate that from day one of our company, we have never had to settle for the second-best applicant for any role. Today we have around 400 highly specialised employees, who get a great deal of latitude for their ideas. Most of them have become real converts to our company vision, and many have been on this exciting journey with us for many years now.

Management
real GC was taken over by the current managing partner Michael Betz through an MBI in 2006. Before joining us, he was on the board of Vitra Management AG. Marcus Beinert has been supporting the management team since 2018/19.

Michael Betz, CEOÂ real GC
After an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic and a degree in mechanical engineering at Kaiserslautern, Michael Betz began working at ABB Elektromotoren GmbH, a subsidiary of the international ABB group, as a production manager with responsibility for personnel and budgeting in 1994. At the end of 1998, he switched to Vitra, an international company based in Birsfelden (Switzerland) which provides office, lighting and shop fitting services. At Vitra, he was on the board of the holding company until 2005, where he was COO with both budgetary and personnel responsibilities for the Vitra group. In 2006, he took up shares in real through an MBI, and he has been a managing partner with us ever since. As CEO, Michael Betz is primarily responsible for the Corporate Development, (Project Solutions), Project Management and Sales departments.

Marcus Beinert, CFO real GC
His first project experience came from an internship and work as a site manager at Siemens AG Würzburg. He studied civil engineering and construction management at TU Dresden and FHWS, worked in project planning and implementation at Leonhard Moll in Munich, then at WSP Deutschland AG in project management for major projects. He has been head of commercial project management with personnel responsibilities since 2016, and part of the group’s senior management since 2019. As CFO, Marcus Beinert is primarily responsible for the Project Controlling, Finance and Accounting, and IT and Organisation departments.
